I have been seriously ill for over two years. I have now lost my income due to this. My bowel symptoms were so severe that i could not believe the diagnosis even though i was scoped, and had many other tests. Now it seems i can no longer digest many types of food and i dont know which. In addition, about 2 months from the begining i began to have neck pain, joint pains, burning feet. I was sure i had Chrons or some other malabsorption, but nothing shows up. Has anyone really been this bad?????
Yes I have the same symptoms along with dizziness, headaches, eye pain, racing heart, hot flashes, tingling fingers etc. I find IBS affects not only the lower digestive tract, (the intestines, tingling anus and scrotum) but also behinf the breast bone. Doctors cannot find anything wrong with me.....Wayde

Hi I have a ? about IBS. Do you have really bad pains and the only way to relieve it is by a bowel movement? I get pains so bad on the left side of my stomach. Sometimes they start at the bottom of my rib cage and I have to gently push down towards my belly button and then it makes me go to the rest room which is what finally relieves it. I also get a bit of nausea lately when I eat. I always thought it was caffeine, but I can go for a few days without it and I still have it. I have been having this pain non stop now for 2 weeks, and I thought at first it was because of womanly troubles, but its not. I was also diagnosed a few years back with Poly Systic Ovarian Syndrome, but I dont think its from that. I also get constipation and my feet burn slightly (they have always been sensitive) and I sweat alot on my hands and feet. Now heres why Im wondering if its IBS. I began my first panic attacks just a month ago for the first time in my life and they scared me to death. The one I had on memorial day was not from stress as everyone keeps trying to tell me, cuz I went swimming and was having a good time and when I went to change, it started and I was under no stress. Please someone, I dont have the money for this program right now, and I dont have insurance so I cant afford alot of doctors and I am afraid to purchase this program if this is not related to anything any one else is going thru ?? I know all of my sisters have had panic attacks and mine have just started. One of my sisters has full blown depression and my mom has mental problems as well. Can this be hereditary? thanks for any comments
You could have IBS. Sounds similar to my experiences. IBS is just one of many symptoms associated with anxiety/stress and I believe depression. It can also be triggered by different foods like fatty foods, alcohol(experienced both) and others that can be found by doing an internet search. The burning feet and other symptoms sound like symptoms of anxiety. Anxiety attacks can happen anytime and anywhere through my experience. I am not a doctor and don;t want sound like one. If you were able to visit a doctor , through my experience, they would probably be hesitant to commit to a IBS diagnosis until running you through a battery of tests which in itself causes stress and anxiety as you well know from your other ailment. My doctor still told me "you probably have IBS", not a real firm, confident diagnosis like I expected which gave me even more anxiety. Anxiety/panic attacks have hit me anywhere from two days to two weeks from a stressful event...Hope this helps good luck..Wayde...P.S...Internet searches never really hit the nail on the head with the "true" symptoms of our ailments until I found this post board/Forum.

ok I have another ? that my friend suggested to me. I have been taking vicoden for pain for a couple months now and right before I had the first "attack", I had stopped taking them for fear I was becoming addicted and so she thought maybe I had the first panic attack due to the withdrawal effect. could this be why the "attacks" started. I am now taking them again due to the pains. I also have taken ibuprofen for the pain so I dont over load on vicoden. does anyone know if ibuprofen is good/bad for the stomach problems and also if anyone else has taken pain killers for this. if so please let me know how that went. i am so worried (as usual) about making it worse.
Homus, I just wanted to let you know that all my bowel problems began with a few vicodin es for pain. I became constipated on the pills and when i finally did go to the bathroom, there was blood, pain. These pills are notorius for damaging your g.i. tract. I am not saying this to frighten you, but i think you should give them up. It is fairly common for them to cause ulcers, ulcerative colitis etc. This pill could be a big portion of your bowel problem. If you feel addicted to them, you may need to see someone about that. Otherwise, instead of going cold turkey, start tapering them down. If you take two a day, try taking two halfs for a week, then two 1/4's for a week etc and see how your bowels are doing. Seriously, these pills can be your problem.Good luck.
