Ever since this Anxiety/depression/stress affected me, my bowels haven't been the same. They have been shortend, narrowed, loose, and sometimes discolored. When I was fine I always went some time after breakfast and when I ate the Heavy foods that you all know will make you have a nice one. But now they come when I get up. Im not sure if I have IBS because Im not constipated, and I dont have to go all the time. My habits have just changed, anyone else going through the same.
hey i realize this is a yukky subject but yes anxiety caused all that! I sometime gotta go right then! stress and all its pearks.... does make your bowels react. I believe i have IBS. it goes both ways though... constipation..... and loose bowels. so either way IBS manifests different in each of us. hey its a part of all this crap!
well, you can have diarreha with IBS, and not constipation or vice versa. I have IBS to, and mine has always been diarreha. And yes, anxiety makes it worse. And changes everything. I have noticed when im calm and things arent so stressful, its much less and i seem to do well, But the first hint of anxiety or stress and the stomach goes first.Go to your doc they can tell you if you have IBS or not and they have medicines to help it, but mostly DO THIS PROGRAM, IT HELPS TO!! take careNELLY
I also suffer with IBS plus lactose intolerance. I used to have major constipation but now it's mostly the other way. I particularly have many trips to the bathroom if I'm anxious. I will also have anxiety/panic about public rest rooms. One of my "things" is "what if i get cramps and have to go" while i'm out somewhere. Proximity to home plays a big factor when going out. Sometimes my bowels run my life. I am hoping this is one area that will get better as I go through the program (I'm on week 2).

Please let me know if the program does help your IBS. It runs my life also. I am agoraphobic and IBS is the major reason why. Being stuck on the road in traffic or on a long country road are terrifying to me because my bowels are so unpredictable. I would love to be able to just pick up and go on a trip with no worries.

I have been suffering for IBS for years too..from all those years of bad habits. Smoking, drinking and tons of coffee and anxiety. Now that starting realize that getting rid of those nasty habits, it is better but still get it daily. No meds have helped. Part of life I guess. Never had some test done which he is doing to do it now. Most likely they will find nothing. So might as well enjoy it.

I have just been diagnoised with GAD I have noticed the recently when i have been upset and nervous that i feel like i have to pas gas and mucous comes out. I had a colonospy 1 year age and they found nothing. could this just be a symptom of anxiety? When I calm down mucous disappears
Hey, Well i have been taking a new drug called entocort ec,,for about 2 months now and it has helped with the IBS, but the fact my stress factor has been better has also helped. Sometimes if you know you have to go shopping or somewhere you can take two immodiums, that used to help me. And watched what i ate while i was out. Take Care Nelly
