I have colitus and sometimes when i am really nervous i will get diarrhea, but it alternates between constipation and diarrhea.

When my panic attacks first started I would have a chronic pain under my right rib, kind of like a runners cramp, followed by diarreah throughout the bad days. I ran from doctor to doctor, scary tests, etc. and I was given a medication that really helped but it knocked me out. I ended up taking only half a pill for each attack. I saw a direct link to the cramping,diarreah and the anxiety episodes. Also, when I get upset with my kids and yell a lot I will get the same pain. My doctor says that it's where your colon turns and maybe my stress just kind of settles there, like it settles in some peoples necks, etc.
Anyway, I ended up using the herb VALERIAN and this helped me better than the medication for the bouts along with drinking plenty of water during attacks. Also, doing the relaxation tape three times a day as a daily HABIT really helps too. I used to do yoga stretches and this really helped as well.
The medication I took was called clinidium.
