Hi all,
I've had what I've been told is colitis for the past six years. Just checking my symptoms with those who have IBS. When I get anxious I get a pain under my right rib, right at the bottom of the rib in the middle. It's like a dull ache with a sensation of fullness or pressure. If it goes on long enough, I will alternate back and forth between constipation and an occasional loose bowel attack. This can go on for about a week or two. Yelling at my kids too much can bring it on as well....it's teaching me more patience! (lol) I have found Valerian to be helpful. But sometimes I have to take Clinidium. I can only take half the dose they recommended because it wipes me out. Also, I find that I seem to get an attack every spring, then at the height of the summer (July), then early fall (October.) The rest of the year I'm pretty much fine! Unless the holidays get to me (lol) and I might just get the ache for a day or so. Anyone else like me??? Blessings, Psalm91 Tricia |

Hi I have IBS and your symptoms match somehow, but I think IBS is a chronic condition. I'm never 100% fine... Maybe 1 day of the week. I suffer pretty much with D alternating with C every now and then. I also have lower abdominal pain, nausea, and gas.
If your doc told you it was colitis it probably is. The stomach suffers so much with anxiety! I hope this helps, Gab |

Hi, I have IBS. Just about 2 mo ago I started getting the pain you described. I had a Gullbladder ultrasound and it was fine. My doc told me it was likely spastic colon. My symptoms were the same as yours, the pressure , felt like someone was pushing on my rib from the inside. I hope you fell better soon.

Thanks Gabby and Trekkie! Trek, you eased my mind so much about the pressure I feel. That's how it feels, pressure from under my rib and of course my mind goes tearing off into places it shouldn't.....the doctor did say spastic colon, not colitis.....I made a mistake in my original post. Thanks again to both of you. I am reading a good book about "How to stop worrying about your health." It is making me a little more on edge but it is also revealing a LOT to me about why I do this. I love learning the truth and I feel like I am headed to a victory over my health obsession.
Blessings to you both, Psalm91 Tricia |
