I am new to the program, just starting lesson II. So far I've learned NOT to go to my safe place, because there isn't really one. I guess my question is...if you have IBS when in anxious situations, how do you not go to the safe place, the bathroom! I feel like things are already in motion,so to speak. How can I ignore? Joy

hi there! I am new to this program too and in lesson 3. I too have this problem and have been given the advice to read the book - IBS and the mindbodyspirit connection. I would love to know how this works for you and it is nice to know that I'm not alone. Good luck to you. I actually feel brave enough to attempt a car trip and deal with whatever comes. It's ok to fail. I don't plan on that though! I also in worst case situations take an over the counter medicine called "Equalactin" and it is for IBS and it works really good.

Thanks for your reply als. I will look into the Equalactin. I've read a few IBS books recently, not sure they included the one you mentioned. I will check at the library. That is really how I came to understand what was wrong with me. It's a really awful condition, so limiting. I've been suffering with anxious feelings for many years, but the IBS has been building now for 2 years. Maybe we can continue to chat here, compare notes, especially since we are at nearly the same place with the program. Good luck with your car trip! Joy
