Hey Maeggie, I am pregnant and unfortunately hormones slow down your digestive track. My doctor told me to take metamucil but to be careful and drink plenty of water with it. Just to let you know, it works quite well. They even make sugar free berry metamucil and it taste just like koolaid. Hope this help.

Hi Amy

First off CONGRATULATIONS! that is wonderful you're expecting! I cant wait to be pregnant and have a baby!

I appreciate the metamucil info, I was a little afraid of trying it as I work tons and if it were to cause problems it would be terrible at my office!

I just wanted to wish you luck with the baby and your pregnancy! you go girl!

Hi Maeggie. Metamucil is good but if you don't get enough water it could cause more problems. Another one that's probably better is natural Bran flakes from the health food store and it only costs 1-3 bucks for a large amount. It works better and you can mix it with food and you wont even know it's there.

By the way I can remember Lucinda Bassett mention that she takes bran for her stomach problems.

Take care. DeeDee.

Maeggie it never gave me heartburn but if you're prone to heartburn taking it with orange juice might.... the orange juice not the metamucil itself.

I have just been diagnosed with IBS (constipation variety. I now realize I have IBS for many years but didn't know what it was. There is very good information at www.helpforIBS.com

I use metamucil and there is NOTHING like peppermint tea and enteric coated peppermint tablets to soothe your tummy once you have an attack or to prevent one.

Acupuncture and chiropractic care can help too.

A high quality, dairy free acidopholus supplement is helpful too.

As we all probably know, stress and anxiety are IBS triggers. Keep listening to Lucinda's relations tape as often as possible.

Another great thing is exercise that will help you get regular to, and drinking lots of water everyday. I used to be stopped up one week..running to the bathroom the next..I know TMI. But once I got a good work out routine going it helped alot. TC Karen

I too have Gerd probelms ok one day not the next. I try to always keep things going with metamucil those new wafers cookies the apple ones aren't bad at all always drink a full glass of water with them though. I had gastritis as a teenager and whenever I start feeling weird in my stomach or have gas in my chest area it makes me nervous. Health is my anxiety. Slowly I am learning to eat and exercise the way I should. This program has done wonders and continues to be a big part of my life. Any Comments I always welcome.
