I just wanted to discuss further a post I read on here from last year regarding gas and anxiety symptoms.
I have noticed that if I have a bout of gas it will trigger anxiety-like symptoms and I will almost have a panic attack. I recognize it for what it is, and it will eventually subside, but I think it's interesting. I wonder why this happens, and what is the nature of the relationship between our GI system and anxiety. There are so many things about IBS that just make me scratch my head. I read something once about the vagus nerve but can't recall exactly what it was. Does anyone know if it might have something to do with IBS and anxiety? |

Hi everyone,
If you have an interest in LEARNING THE TRUTH ABOUT IBS and the SYMPTOMS IT CAN CAUSE YOU just stay tune to this post and I will present to you where it comes from, how you get it, what are the symptoms, how to control it, and a fantastic book I highly recommend reading to overcome your problem of IBS FOREVER! I have suffered from IBS for 20-25 years. Life was horrible going to the bathroom all the time, intestinal cramps, abdominal pain, spams in my intestines, having anxiety, depression, excessive gas and bloating, being sensitive to ordors and foods, panic attacks, and auto toxicity. This is just the beginning of what CANDIDA can do to make your life miserable, doctors are ignorant of it (HOLOSTIC DOCTORS CAN HELP YOU) they understand it and can get you on a good diet program that will control your CANDIDA. HELP IS ON THE WAY! Let me know if you have any questions you need help on, I will be happy to make to feel better so you can finally understand what CANDIDA is and how to CONTROL IT FOREVER! Hi Julian,
A good way to test for candida is to go to a good holistic doctor and recommend a bowel test to check to see if you have it. If you do the doctor will give you something to kill the candida (yeast) and bad bacteria that is giving you an imbalance in your intestines. Then he will suggest you to take supplements for healing, a good probiotic (good bacteria) and eat plain yogurt with active cultures. Your DIET IS VERY IMPORTANT in controlling your candida. Avoid all sugars (stevia) is best. Avoid all yeast containing foods, breads, crackers, all fermented and aged products, alcoholic beverages, salad dressings, mushrooms, and fruits. A good book on candida (overgrowth of yeast) is THE YEAST CONNECTION COOKBOOK by William G. Crook, M.D. This book will tell and show you everything you need to know about candida and it also has a lot of great receipes. Good Luck, Dona Dry |

Julian,
Its best to talk to your doc, and let him rule out anything else. It could be IBS, however, after talking with him, it might reassure you more whether it is or isnt.... |

I am curious, how do you find this "holistic doctor" and will it be covered by insurance? I think my current diet is pretty good, I only drink one cup of DECAF coffee in the morning and then only drink mostly water, some decaf green tea and the new V-8 Fushion to make sure I'm getting enough fruit and veggies. Actually, when I do have a bad flare up ramean soup helps me which has noodles in it. Right now I'm reading a book about IBS written by someone who has it and it's very interesting. It's called "Relief from IBS" by Elaine Fantle Shimberg. She explains that IBS is different for everyone so it's up to that person to find their triggers and stress and anxiety play a big role in that. Of course I am still open to the idea of seeing if I have candida. I also try to eat the activa yogurt for breakfast.

Hi Laura,
I see that you live in flordia so you are going to have to do some looking for a holistic doctor. A holistic doctor can be a M.D. or D.O. they are like medical doctors but put their attention more on natural healing than with medical drugs although if they feel you need medical drugs they will give them, BUT THEIR FIRST CHOICE IS NATURAL. They studied the human body as a WHOLE (body, mind, spirit). There are a lot of different ways to heal the body rather than just give someone drugs. DRUGS ARE A POISON TO OUR BODIES, AND OUR BODIES DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT? There are herbs, supplements, vitamins etc. that are equally effective. Sometimes you can have an inbalance that can cause you a lot of health issues. Candida is one of them (inbalance in the intestines) having too much bad bacteria and not enough good. For a healthly digestive tract you should be 85% good and 15% bad bacteria. The best test for candida I found is to have a bowel test (you do at home) and send it out to the lab for testing. Then your doctor can help you kill the yeast and bad bacteria and help you to control your condition that you on on the read to recovery. Ask for a holistic doctor at your local health food store, sometimes they have business cards at the register. You should be OFF OF SUGAR AND HIGH CARBS. Sugars feed the yeast and make it grow. A good book I recommend is THE YEAST CONNECTION COOKBOOK by William G. Crook, M.D. Explains all about yeast, symptoms, treatments, and lots of great receipes. To your success, Dona Dry |

Thanks for the info, my daughter is home sick now but as soon as she's well enough that I can leave the house I'll look into finding a holistic doctor. I did do a fecal test but I think they were just checking for blood and it came back negative. I really don't use or eat a lot of sugar except my little dove dark chocolates. I usually eat no more than 5 a day. It's good in antioxidants but another thing I noticed ( and this is kind of gross) but if I don't eat the dark chocolate my bowel movements are very light, even yellow in color so my doctor recommended the dark chocolate and said I was lacking something in my diet. I don't eat a lot of beef or pork, hardly ever in the last three months. I only drink one cup of decaf coffee in the morning the water the rest of the day .I've asked about an "imbalance" before and was told by my one doctor that there is no such test for this but then again the doctors I HAVE to see aren't that great (I'm in the military and don't have much of a choice)but I am retiring in Sept so I'll have much better choices then. I know my stress level has a lot to do with my IBS and also "that time of month"
Once again thanks for the valuable info. Laura |
