My stomach pain is usually in the middle of my stomach. I get mostly "D"s and try to drink plenty of fluids. No OTC or meds I've been given have ever helped except when I was taking Pamelor but the only thing that did was lessen the pain, I still have several BMs through out the day.

Funny you shoudl mention Celexa. Today was my first day taking it and it gave me a bad upset stomache, diahrrea, nausea, vomiting, and I was really tired but couldn't sleep. I've called my doctor but he hasn't gotten back to me yet. Last time he tried me on a new med for anxiety it took him three days to call me back when I had a bad reaction. Another doctor told me that most anti-depressants can cause all the side effects I have right now but since she's not my regular doctor I have to wait til mine calls back. Bottom line; I'm not taking any more Celexa til I hear otherwise. I took it at 8:30am and although I'm starting to feel a little better I am still not well enough to do anything but lie in bed and check my emails once in a while. I also am having a hard time eating anything right now. So beware, Celexa might not be right for you!

Disclaimer: If you have a weak stomach DONT READ...LOL.

I am constipated and D all the time. I can do both in the same day. I have what is called "Slow Transient IBS." I dunno what the HELL that means but all I do know is that I dont "GO" on my own. I Have to take 4 Colon Clense EVERY NITE. If I start gettin too loose in a day I will cut back to 3 and guess what I dont "GO" the next day. Before I was taking this stuff. I would get C sooooooo bad. Then I was lucky if I went every 5 days I would have to take Laxitives by the handful.

So now I go everyday except when I cut back or if I miss a dose I am a mess for a week getting back on track again. Does anybody experience this? I get SICK to my stomach before I "unload" Almost like a Septic feeling. I get sweaty, cold and Clammy, tunnel vision and a feeling of vomiting. That is the only way I can think of descrbiing it. Then I unload (pushing out a baseball then waaaahooooo a freeing feeling of the bm moving out VERY quickly) wait a few mins and my tummy calms down and all the symptoms go away. Then I will have the D all the rest of the day. It sux This is a DAILY event for me. IF I dont go for a few days O BROTHER I AM ICKY FOR EVERY DAY I DONT GO! I hate this DREADED IBS.

Hi Monica,

Just a recommendation that is really wonderful plus it supplies you with a good amount of fiber for your colon:

2 to 3 tablespoons of ground flax seed in a small amount of water. It's tasteless and is almost like eating a cereal. Do this just before you go to bed at night. Do not take fish oil (or any medicinal oil) with it. If you do oils do them in the morning.

Thanks sporadic.

lol @ cringing over pain.

I don't get it THAT bad, but it seems to be anywhere from a dull ache right under my ribcage to a more stabbing-like pain on my lower right quadrant... but none of it is severe... just annoying.

I hope everyone is up to date on their colonoscopies and taking what Boon offered Very seriously. Doctor appointments for those that have not consulted one...vital.

Review the information in session 5 regarding raw, unprocessed, wheat bran. (unless you are alergic to wheat)

I believe it depends on your age. My GI doct. said it would be really bad for me to do a Colonoscopy with the twisty bowels I have. He does a Barium Enema instead.
I was told that I needed to go back and have one every 5 years.

For those of you who might take narcs for other pains, (as I do) I have found that I am really bad with the C.
My doctor said NOT to take the psylium type fillers, that with Narcs, it makes it worse.

I have found that various meds tend to make me have either worse D or C. Depends on the meds.

At this time, I can get away with using whole wheat bread, fiber cereal in the AM.
That usually will break up the clog.

I get really gassy tho. And it is awful.
When I got a really bad attack I almost put my hand through the bathroom wall to take the pain from my stomach/intestines.
One time I wacked my head into the wall too.
It is so painful.

I get semi loose when I am extremely anxious, and feel nauseas, and go about 5 or more times a day. I can't go out or do anything.

If my anxiety is under control it goes towards the Const. area.

I had a full colo about 7 years ago and it was the worst! First of all I am not a fan of anything salty so having to drink a gallon of that stuff to "clean you out" was horrible! As a matter of fact I got so sick from it I was shaky and nausous and dehydrated. The next day for my colo my friend had to literally carry me to the car and hold me up while I filled out the paperwork. They did put me under for the procedure but I woke up in the middle of it screaming so they put me under again. After all that was done, they couldn't find anything so I was relieved of that but until they can make the procedure less uncomfortable and sickening I rather not ever get one again unless something really pointed to me needing one! My IBS hasn't changed over the last 7 years so I figure if it was something serious it would've reared it's ugly head by now. I also don't do well with meds. It seems that with having IBS many of the anti-depressants/anti-anxiety meds always aggrivate my IBS really bad. My doctor put me on 20mg of Celexa yesterday and I suffered all day with nausea, dry heaves, bad stomach ache, "D', headache, sleepiness with restlessness. It was horrible! Then this morning I got very hot and almost fainted which lead to really bad bout of "d" and then chills with another stomach ache. As the day went on today my stomach wasn't so bad but the headache is still going strong. I hate meds!!!
