Do you want to share what your OCD is?

I have never been diagnosed but I know I have it.

To be honnest some of mine lasted years and then left only to be replaced by another.

Here are some I had:
I couldn't look at the sheets when I made the bed for years. Totally over it now.
I was terrified of getting a stain on my blouse or top so that I'd totally cover up when eating. This too I'm absolutely over now.
I would wash my hands and use a nail brush all the time. Fine now.

Here are some I still have:
Problem counting money and will have to recount when paying at a store. (Better for a while after the MW course until we got financial problems & broke).
Have to check a couple of times a day at least to be sure our indoor cat has not run out.
I am thinking about a serious problem at least 85% of the day.
I have a couple of of others that I've had for years and am too embarressed to admit.

Well, now that I had the guts to tell you, it's your turn. I didn't know how bad I am with this problem untill I just now typed them out. LOL and to think, I didn't even write the two worst ones.

I've been a member on the forum for 1 and a half years. I always thought that I was doing very well compared to most of you. I guess I was in denial until I recently became aware of my having PTSD & OCD. I'm going to a therapist next week.

Hey Victoria!!

Now granted I work with paper so it may not look like a real OCD but I lick my fingers before I pick up things. I have shared this with some of the gals I work with and now they are pointing it out to me when I do it. For instance when I reach for the "In" button to mark myself into the office I will lick my fingers. One of the gals sits there by the Check In/Out board and says "You just licked your fingers to do that." We laugh about it because I truly can control it but I do it alot. My favorite story I tell people is one time during the winter as I approached my vehicle I went to lick my fingers prior to reaching for the door handle. Problem was I was wearing mittens - GAKK!!

Forgot some...I must always remove my seatbelt when I reach a particular house on my road. I can leave my driveway with it on but I am uncomfortable arriving into my driveway wearing it. What is up with that?! I guess I just feel it is bad luck or something.

I received a pair of gold hoop earrings for standing up in a friends wedding. The wedding was doomed from the beginning and sure enough shortly thereafter they divorced. I began noticing that whenever I wore those earrings I got into an argument with my husband. I eventually quit wearing them. Obviously I know one has absolutely nothing to do with the other but it is an example of the way that my mind works (or doesn't work )

Hi Shawn,
I got a kick out of the mitten one.

I most often undo my seat belt when I have to turn around to get into a parking place.
I think we both do it because we don't like the lack of freedom that a seat belt seems to bring. When your near the house you know you are unlikely to get a ticket for breaing the law.

Thanks for the reply.
