You got it Bev. I have a 9 year old and I'm going through alot of similarities as you are. I annoint her head every night and I speak blessings over her and then of course I take it to prayer. I will definitely pray for your little boy.....and of course for you as well.

My 9 year old daughter is having some troubles too. I feel guilty because I think that my condition has been troubling me lately and it may have caused her upset. My biggest fear is that I will not be a good parent and my children will be messed up like me.

The first thing you need to do, Jannacle, is embrace yourself. You are not messed up. Rephrase that statement. We must embrace, accept our own phobic nature. We make it so bad to be phobic. Nobody is perfect. You work with what you have to work with. You are special and let your little girl know that she is special, too, inspite of her phobias. It's inherited. You can't beat yourself up for that. It will help both of you to focus on the gifts you bring this world and the gifts that your child brings this world. I know there are many.

My Dearest Beverly, I completely understand your worry, there is a natural instinct there as well, I agree with Boon, The first thing you need to do, Jannacle, is embrace yourself. You are not messed up. Rephrase that statement. We must embrace, accept our own phobic nature. We make it so bad to be phobic. Nobody is perfect. You work with what you have to work with. It will help both of you to focus on the gifts you bring this world and the gifts that your child brings this world that is a wonderful instinct to have, even when it doesnt always mean something positive.. I always pray for you and your family but I will make a special request for him. Do you think seeing someone would help? In Ontario there are programs for children (only children) that counsel and help children, they are social workers and therapists- it is called KEYSTONE YOUTH SERVICES- 1-519-371-4773 - 845 2nd Avenue East, Owen Sound ON CAN N4K 2H2 - perhaps you could give them a call, (I know separate areas) but you never know perhaps they have an associate somewhere? knowledge is power.. perhaps he needs someone outside the box to open up to. My friend has been going through this lately with her son whose 12, however, he saw someone(only once for him) and felt much better, he was able to decide which parent he wanted to live with and that was all he needed. He's doing great now. Just a thought.. Please give yourself some credit and do something NICE FOR YOU today.. even just a little thing, have a bath, read a book, just for you.. have comfort in the fact god will guide your son, he will protect him, when the time is right it will on fall into place, (keep in mind your sons hormones may be starting and depression/anxiety is also genetic) Life isnt always easy, even for kids.. have faith in his 'growth spurt'.. Best wishes always doll! xo

Hi Bev, yes hormones, my coworkers daughter is 11 and started her period recently, she is completely out of control, she was crying in the shower the other morning and when her mom asked why she said "I dont know I just cant stop" PMS!?!? nonetheless I would talk to your doc or a ped. They would know exactly what to look for (hormone wise) Please keep me posted!
