I was never realy into religion until I had issues with anxiety, you search everywhere for a cure, In the end I came across the bible, it does help.

Something I have learned is, god does not give you anything to deal with in life unless you can, If you put your faith and trust in the Lord you CAN get through anything.

Hey Pear,

I'm glad you started reading the Bible. You will find many helpful comments in the spiritual section of this program. Reading the Bible is a good start but having a relationship with Jesus Christ makes all the difference. It's not religion that saves you and gets you on track, it's relationship. I wish you well. Many blessings. If you want to PM me I'd be happy to hear from you or just read your comments on here.

It can make you wonder, huh? He seems to use challenges like this to draw us near to Him. It helps us realize how helpless we are without Him and also that there must be more to this life.
Keep on keepin' on.

You will find that with GAD or any issue related to it, that your need for help and the assistance of God will heighten. Mine did and I'm glad for it. Sometimes, we may not realize why all this has happened, but in the long run, it may of been to bring you to His door step. Reading the Bible will help in ways you can't imagine. Much prayer will also get you through your issues. Anything I can help you with, feel free to contact me (email)

Stay Blessed
Rev. Fred

These writings are sooo true!!! God will not bring you to something without bringing you through it!!! Amen and Amen!!!

I agree we must all have a "personal relationship" with Jesus Christ and the Bible is the best place to start!!!

We must be born again, in order, to receive the full benefits of what God has in store for those who love HIM!!!

Have a great day!!! God Bless!!!

These messages are so encouraging! I have been a Christian my entire life and was just diagnosed with GAD. Leading up to my diagnoses, my faith was mediocre. For the past 3 months, I have been in a pretty dark place, but have found that my relationship with GOD has grown even stronger because of what I have been through. In church last Sunday, the pastor reminded us that when life gets hard, lean into the Lord. When you are weak, He is strong. Remember that we are not perfect, but He is. Things might suck now, but when you overcome this obstacle, your relationship with GOD will be stronger and you will praise Him for carrying you through the darkness. Stay strong! Remember that we are His children and He sees the BIGGER picture. I don't understand anything right now, but trust that GOD has a reason for all of this. Hang in there.......I know we can do it!!

I soo agree with all of your comments. I always felt that I have had a close connection with the Almighty God, but would often forget just how strong he is, and how much he loves me. When I was going through my worst bouts with the anxiety, I thought I was literally going to die! I have learned through this journey that through God ALL things are possible. It brings me to tears everytime I think of how bad I used to feel, and how when I would lay down and go to sleep that I would not wake up the nxt morning bcuz I felt so bad. Every morning through this battle I wake up excited bcuz he brought me through the night to see another day. Some days are still hard, but like my grandma told me, when you are finding yourself building a life with Christ, HE never said that it would be easy! I am still building my life with God, and I soo want him to always be apart of me and my families life. Prayer does work, I am a witness to that! Let no weapon formed against me shall prosper, AMEN!

I tend to see this as a testament to the power of your mind more than anything else. I mean, that's what gets us all here in the first place, right? It's positive thinking and affirmation that are helping you, and I believe so because of the following: Do only Christians get relief from anxiety when they pray? Probably not. I'm sure there are many Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, etc that feel empowered by their religion and feel like faith in their god/gods/goddesses has helped them through their times of struggle. If you want to attribute it to religion, then that is your decision, but also know that you, more than anything, have proved that you can use your thoughts to change your feelings for the better.
Congratulations and good luck!

I agree with you too!

I have been a Christian for 19 years now and only recently sought help in my problems. And my relationship with God only deepened from it. So just being a Christian or a Believer is not always enough, it's being in a relationship and having trust with our Creator that really helps us to let go of that thread that we allow our challenges to stay connected to us.

Paul once said his thorn was there to help him lean on God. Sometimes we need to learn to not only live with, but seek God to help us with our thorns.

Hi Aznate!
If you're new to religion, I'd really suggest A CASE FOR CHRIST by Lee Strobel. He has a really good DVD that helped me big time to decide where I could put my faith and why. good stuff.
The bible can be super intimidating, but a good place to start is to read the book of John. It explains the basics.
There IS a God and He's left us evidence of His love and purpose. All the best on your investigation Smiler

Hi AZNATE,
I will never forget the day that I was "born again" Smiler

It was 22 years ago and I was going through a very difficult time in my life!!!

I can remember going outside and looking up into the clouds and wondering how far Heaven was from earth!!!

I began seeking Jesus' face as one would seek the most valuable pearl!!! In other words, I began to pray and would not give up, until, the day HE saved me!!!

I can remember seeking HIM for about 6 months before I actually had my "born again" experience!!!

I had to become humble as a little child and cry out to HIM!!!

I can remember kneeling beside my children's bunk beds and begging Jesus to save me!!

I had come to the end of my strength and I knew that I needed HIM more than anything in this world!!!

I had always believed there was a Jesus in my mind, but, until that day, I never knew HIM!!

There is such a huge difference in believing in your mind that someone exists than in actually knowing that person!!!

I can still remember the day of my "Spiritual Birth" as though, it was yesterday!!!

I was crying out to Jesus to save me!!! I said, "Jesus I know that you died on the cross and arose on the 3rd day, just for me, and I believed it in my heart!!!"

I had already gotten up from prayer and had walked into my living room, when, in the blink of an eye, I saw a light very close to my chest!!!

I didn't know nothing about a soul at that time, so, at that time, I called it a cup!!!

I physically felt like there was a cup inside of my chest and when that light came in, I could feel that cup being filled to overflowing with the most perfect peace!!!

I can not describe that peace, since, it is soooo much greater than any peace one feels in their everyday lives!!! It just surpasses all understanding!!!

I felt like a brand new person!!! I did not have one care in this world!!! Honestly, I would not have cared if my house burned down that moment, that peace was that great!!!

Not everyone sees lights when they get saved!!! This is my experience with salvation!!!

The Bible says you know you have passed from death onto life because you love your brothers!!! God is love!!! Everyone who is born of God is born of love!!!

Peace, joy, happiness and that great love that surpasses all understanding came into my soul that day in one package!!!

BTW: I can't remember my "natural birth" and I cannot forget my "Spiritual birth" neither, would I ever want to, since, it was and still is the very best thing that ever happened to me, since, I have been living on this planet!!!

I pray this helps you understand what true salvation is all about!!!

Have a great night's rest!!! Love in Jesus Christ!!!

BTW: Hey, I do not have to pray looking up at the clouds anymore, since, HE moved into my soul!!! I pray and talk to HIM daily!!! He is my Everything!!! My Father, Best Friend, Teacher, Counselor, and every other good descriptive word under the sun!!!

I was raised in God, knowing God as a friend a father, and someone to talk too. I was also the product of a mixed famiy, my mother knew God, my father didn't.
I went to church every sabbath, went to church school and to the academy (highschool),and to the college. When I got into the workforce, I found that it was easier to drift with my friends and run with the crowd.
Never even thought it made a diffenrence in my life, he was still there, waiting.
Than I got married, had kids, I wanted my kids to have the security of the father above, who is more powerful than any father on earth.Every time I strayed, I lost a glimpse of his face, and my family suffered. But I never thought anything would happen to my family, becouse we were good we knew God, and we were a strong family and abided by the law. We had three tradeies in a three month period that shook my world, left me and alcoholic, depressed, seeking anything to forget,I lost my way. But God was always there, I hid in a pill bottle after four surgeries in one year. Ate vicotin and was a pill garbage gut for two years, hurt my family, depressed lost my nursiing license, and wanted to die, My 24 year son found my dead in my bedroom and called he perimedics, and my sister, God let me live, even though they could get a pulse or heart beat. i had to fight the depression, find myself, anxiety that I wouldn't make it caused seizures out in public, its frightenion. But I still pray for my family and find strength in my tapes, knowledge and prayer for the holy spirit, GOd the Father and the Calming Palm of the Holy Spirit each night to let me sleep, wake up refreshed to start another day. Hang on to that like a life line. Syb
