I guess I should just call my doctor for an appt.

On and off for the past 2 -3 months....I have had problems with driving to and from work. I start getting really tired. Sometimes, it feels like my mind is racing. But I just get so tired that I just pull over and take a 5-10 min...rest time... I wouldn't really call it a nap. It helps.

Most of the time it happens in the morning.

I'm thinking it's due to my medication. For bedtime I take cymbalta 60mg and 0.5 xanax. Then in the morning I take another 0.5 xanax.

I'm thinking the meds are making so drowsy or something. Even right now, I'm a bit tired.

Ugh... Any thoughts...or similair experiences. Almost daily I have to stop and take a 10 min rest during my commute to and from work.

Thanks for any advice.

I do this often. I can only drive for 30 mins. then I am so sleepy I cant function. somtimes I push myself to drive longer until I notice that I am Vearing off of the road. What is this? I want to know. I am only taking blood pressure meds. But even when I was on other stuff. I was still sleepy behind the wheel

Hi Familyman, I'm also on Cymbalta but that does'nt make me tired. I'm also on Attivan, which is just like Xanax. That can make you tired, especially if you just recently started it or upped the dose.If you have been on it a while, it's such a low dosage you should'nt really have a problem. Another thing I have is sleep apnea. I used to get very sleepy when I would drive, especially a long day.In 20 to 30 minutes I could have a lot of trouble keeping my eyes open. Now I sleep with a breathing machine and am much more alert. I take .5 mg twice a day and don't seem to have too much trouble. If you snore alot when you sleep, Sleep Apnea may be worth checking into. Hope this helps, Dave

thx for the help peddler...and monica..

I actually also use a sleep apnea machine as well. Here lately I haven't been using it as much as I should. I did last night. Sometimes, I have a bad habit of taking my kids to bed and falling asleep with them.

I've been under a bit of stress lately....new job...starting this mwc program...kids to school, etc.

I have pretty much cut out all caffeinated stuff at work.. Just decaf coffee with sweet n low.

Ah...Yeah. I'm on a low dose of both cymbalta and xanax. I was just thinking it may because it was too much. I just don't know.

I guess it's one of those stress = tiredness things... I just don't know.

I don't worry about it. I just end up pulling over at least 3 times a week. I pulled over this morning. And yesterday on the way to work...and on the way home.

I don't see my doctor for another 3 months. I'm always worried he want to change to a different med. He wanted to last time, but I didn't really want too.

Bahumbug....oh well.

I guess I just need to start using my breathing machine....every single night....sometimes it's hard to with my kids..

I'm thinking maybe I should just go to a normal physician. Instead of my psych. I see him about 3 months from now....which is a long time.

Too me, it doesn't really seem like dep. Things have actually been getting better for the past couple of weeks. A few down times, but the anxiety has been up and down. I just don't know.

I think I'll schedule a basic visit to a physician. I'm 31...and never have really had my cholestoral checked. Stuff like that.

I'm baffled, sometimes, I think its due to my meds (which aren't that high dose), then other times I think its from my sleep apnea. Don't know....

Thanks...deeman...

I try not to let it get me down, but I have been stopping at least once a week on the way to work for the past 4 - 5 months. I'm pretty good....I'm not dangerous....when I feel even remotely tired....I stop to be on the safe side.

Go figure, when I was 16...and feel asleep during the day and wrecked my car.

Just don't know. I'll make an appt to see a physician or something.

I did'nt use my c-pap real regular either after I tried it for a little while at first cause it did'nt seem to make a difference. But later I had a sleep study again and this time they turned the pressure up and that made all the difference. Could be a Thyroid thing too.

I'm feeling very tired today too. There are so many things going thru my mind, so much to do and time on the program overwhelms us sometimes. So if you have to take a 10 min. break for a while it's OK. You may not like it but our bodies usually tell us what to do. I have work to do but if i don't perk up I may take a break and lay down. Listen to a tape for whatever I get out of it if I fall asleep or set the timer for 15-20 min. If it gets to a point you're doing this for a month EVERY
day then try going without your med in the a.m if you think that's making you tired or yes, talk to your Dr.

hey family man sweet & low that wouldn't happen to be an artificial sweetener would it? cuz if it is thats one of the reasons why your tired. artificial sweeteners fool the brain into thinking there is sugar in our system and thus it gets rid of the sugar in our blood already and we end up being tooo low in sugar which is the same as when come down from a sugar high. Thats one aspect
The fact that all those stressors are happening all at once right now is a bigger aspect. Sounds like alot of stress response is happening in your body and that can shrink the adrenal gland which decreases the inhibitory effect it has on the stress response making it harder to cope with the stress which can make it easy to fatigue from.
Pills are another thing but i have no idea about those specific ones so i can't really say anything.
My advice is to spend a bit more time resting during the day, maybe switch to honey instead of sweet and low and talk to your doctor about your meds.

if your intrested there is a really good book out there to explain it better. its called Adrenal Fatigue The 21st Century Stress Syndrome by James L Wilson.. I actually took a stress course in school on more of a physiological/pathological level and it was a huge eye opener and alot of that stuff is in this book and more.

I started out on 1/2 of a 5mg valium twice a day. I was too tired so I got a really good pill cutter (at Walgreens) and started with 1/4 in the morning and 1/2 at night. I was still too tired in the morning so I went to 1/4 am and 1/4 pm. I started having a little problem in the early afternoon so I added 1/4 about 2pm. I think I have finally found a dosage schedule that doesn't make me so tired, plus I am not taking the whole 5mg a day which I love. I don't know if you want to expirement like that but it helped me be able to keep it in my system without dozing off.

I recently changed my dose of Zoloft from 50 mg to 100 and the same thing happen; my doctor suggested taking before bed; that didn't help; not I take it around supper time and it keeps me from dozing at work;especially in the mornings. Smiler
