Thought it would be fun if people posted their simple pleasures. Just the little things that brighten their day. Then others might see these little things in their lives and smile too. So if you have any simple pleasures you'd like to post, post away!
Mine for today: Today I went on a long walk and heard a bird calling out. It made me smile as I pretended that it was telling me "looking good, girl!". LOL! Then I came across a woman walking a beautiful golden retriever. The dog just loved me. Sat down right on my feet and leaned against me and looked up and smiled at me. Soooooo cute!
Waking up to my beagles big brown eyes looking at me that always brings a smile to my face. Listening to the birds singing and chirping they seem so happy!
My simple pleasure is getting up early in the morning when no one else is up yet and drinking a good cup of coffee and thinking about all the things that God has done in my life and what all he is planning to do.
Hello everyone, My simple pleasure now is taking a walk and listening to the birds churping, noticing every detail in the trees and flowers. It has been a long time coming, but I'am begining to really appreciate life and its beauty.
My kitties lying next to me. The dinner I just ate... so good. A woman I sold a TV to today at work who was so nice to me and just a genuine good person. The little kids toy that came in my McDonald's happy meal! LOL
hugs&kisses, Karilynn
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain. Frank Herbert
"How you climb up the mountain is just as important as how you get down the mountain. And, so it is with life, which for many of us becomes one big test followed by one big lesson. In the end, it all comes down to one word: grace. It's how you accept winning and losing, good luck and bad luck, darkness and the light."
I have several different simple pleasures, depending on the season and what's going on. One is to spend some time in church when it's otherwise empty. Some quiet time with God in His house is very nice. I also enjoy taking my dog for a walk and saying hi to the neighbors. Or, just sitting outside enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.

Forgot one. I work at a nursing home/rehab center. Finding a way to get a resident to smile is a genuine simple pleasure. Usually just holding their hand, saying hello or giving them a smile does the trick.

My simple pleasure is visiting my Mom in her special care home. Sometimes I stay for lunch and eat with her and two other residents. In the summer, I go out in the afternoon and we all sit outdoors on the patio or walk around the gardens there. It is beautiful and these visits make my day. My Mom is awesome!

My simple pleasure is our SHIH POO puppy Ginger, who's 8 mths old. Yesterday, we took her to this big park nearby. On this one open field, my hubby stayed w/ her in 1 spot - while I walked clear across the other end. I sat dwn on the grass. My nickname for her is MAMA. So, I cld her, "where's the mama?" She came running real fast. I swear dogs laugh. she jumped on me & we fell in the grass. I was laughing. Ginger was running all over me, rolling in the grass too & kissing my face. She was so excited. @ 1 point, as my hubby was making his way back to us, Ginger & I were laying in the grass - on our backs playing & rolling kind of. It couldn't have gotten better than that very moment - to boot, it was warm & sunny here in NJ as well.
I have another SIMPLE PLEASURE, lol. Just me having THAT moment, & enjoying THAT moment. Knowing I "need" those moments + "can" have them + "stop", no matter what's going on in my life - just to PLAY. It's all good.
LOL - SILLY IN N.J., LENORE
I'D RATHER CLIMB THE MOUNTAIN, THEN CRAWL IN THAT HOLE!
