Hey Holly, I can relate to this oh so well and I'm 27. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 2 months ago and the doctor prescribed me Lyrica for the aches and pains. I haven't tried the medication yet for a few reasons mainly because my pains come and go and don't like relying on a pill if I don't have to take it. My doctor explained how anxiety/and fibromyalgia are related (in my case) and that once the anxiety is treated correctly then the pains should go away. Which makes sense. I too, feel like an old woman. I feel more like 87 than 27 at times and YES a lack of sleep can make your whole body out of wack at times. I have low-grade fevers often but notice they get worse when I take different medications. And YES - *lol* I can relate to the whole boyfriend thing so I come on here as well to talk to others who can understand. I notice when I'm out and about (taking a walk at a park or something) and not in a stressful situation (such as work) I feel so much better. The mind can do so much but the key is to keep busy by doing things that you like. There are so many days I sleep the pain away and realize that doesn't get me anywhere. Anxiety is a horrible thing to go through but know you're not alone and that we're here for ya! Good luck and I hope things get better over there! Please keep in touch ! *Renee* quote: Originally posted by Holly J: Im wondering if i have fibromyalgia now. . .? anyway, every time after I work (work at a coffee shop) and come home take a shower and lay to relax my body feels awful. I am sooo achey and even feel like i am getting the flu. its weird. sometimes I'll even get the chills and feel nauseated. I am only 23 and fee like an old woman. its sad. i this anxiety causing this? The thing is, at work i have a good time and don't really feel bad but when i go home to relax i feel terrible. i also have thought i have chronic fatigue syndrome. If i dont get enough sleep i always feel bad the rest of the day. does anyone get this way?? i mean a ooerson my age after working at a coffee shop should feel fine. . . though it is harder than it seems. . Thank god i dont drink caffeine!!

I get a sore throat too. Does any one else get a sore throat on top of this? I am so sad b/c I have flu-like symptoms every month for some reason. I thought I had a sinus infection so I took antibiotics. It seemed to have worked I guess. I have it again this month?! This is how mine starts: I have a 5 month old and I have been seriously deprived of sleep. I always seem to get more fatigue, heart palps, and low exercise tolerance prior to each time I get these episodes. I feel sooo tired and weak and nauseous and then the next day I get the sore throat in the middle of the nite and then the terrible aches in my neck and shoulders--like a burning ache. By the next day it spreads to the lower torso. My hips and back and legs. I had my thyroid tested too and it was negative. How long does your episodes last? Mine seem to last several days into the week. I have to take motrin or tylenol when these happen or I cannot sleep and then I am really screwed. I know that being sleep deprived is a major trigger. I do aerobics 5 days a week and I always have bad aches after the workouts. I just don't know what to do?

I'm new to this forum and will be starting the program again as soon as I get the cd/dvd version in the mail. I bought the tapes version in 1999, but no longer have anything to play them on! Plus my old workbook is all marked up. I started the program back then and got all the way through lesson 7, but never finished because I no longer had panic attacks. But, I still had depression symptoms, so I began taking Paxil in early 2001. Well, recently I decided it was time to reduce the dosage of it very slowly with the blessing of my doctor. Well, six months later the panic attacks are back, and I'm back to starting over with the program. Anyway, sometime back in 2001 or 02 I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue. Now, reading all your posts, I'm wondering if they are caused by stress and anxiety? Wow, food for thought. Thanks for listening! Take care, Anne

Hi Holly,
I used to get these before my period. Now I get these just once a month. I have had a sore throat for about a week. It hurts so bad that I have been taking motrin and tylenol all day. I wonder if it has something to do with my hormones? I never had this prob till the last 2 months. I was 4 months post prego. I just feel tired and weak and so wiry?!
How about you?

Hi Holly,
I am sooo sorry for getting back to you so late. My sister just had her baby a few days ago and it has been a whirlwind. I have been traveling to Dallas to see her. I just recently found this board. I have the Lucinda Basset tapes but I have not had the time to listen to them. You sound alot like me. I have sooo many issues w/ anxiety and depression. I always have since I was very young. I hate it.
Would you mind telling me a little about yourself? I think we have a lot of things in common and I would just like to know all the issues you have had. I dont have time to write anymore tonite b/c of my 6 month old. He is high maintenance. My 5 year old is high on the list too. It drives me crazy! I am not getting much sleep so I am sure the lack of sleep is not helping the anxiety and depression.
I look forward to reading about you and I will write you as soon as possible.
Serena
