Hello!!

I just joined the forum, though I started a couple weeks ago. I'm at Day3/session2! Gotta say, couldn't be happier at this point with progress. I feel I've already become MUCH more in tune with my breathing...enough to know that it's kinda out of whack Smiler

I've also really enjoyed Lucinda's discussions of "wierd" anxiety problems, like being afraid you are going to do something crazy with a knife or something, lol Smiler Seems so funny to hear/read it, but oddly true nonetheless.

Anyway, greetings everyone. I haven't read but a handful of other threads, as I knew that if I didn't get involved right away the chances were high that I'd ignore the forums. So not really sure what protocol is on how people are defining themselves, but I'm:

--32m
--anxiety/panic for 10yrs
--was catalyst for weight gain, which bothers me the most
--major control freak
--biggest anxiety producer is the element of surprise
--oddly, helps me to be a very hard-charging biz person
--anx + weight gain have kept me from being the social person I'd like to be, and pursuing things in that regard

I'll try and catch up on the other threads!!

JON

Hi Jon. Guess you are finishing up Session Two by now. How are you doing? When I began the program I was so deeply depressed, that although I worked Session One and Two completely, listened to the CD's many times, did all the homework, I missed some great stuff there. When I completed the program, and went back to refresh and reinforce skills, I found Session One and Two have some truly remarkable tools. You could say I woke up sometime after Session Three. Big Grin Glad you sound like you're already awake Wink and moving nicely along. Welcome.

Welcom Jon F.,
I am in Day 1, Session 2, but I missed the part in Session 1 (even after listening 3 times) where Lucinda said we make the best lovers! Lol, that's awesome!

Good luck on your journey! Smiler

Hi all,

my name is mario, I live between Binghamton (NY)for work and new hampshire (my home). I am at week 3 of the program. Already feel much better. Coming from a reappearance of panick/anxiety/depression last summer. I got the disorder back after 12 years (!!!!) of well being, had forgotten about all this. But I lost my job in January 2007 and since then I built up and up and up more an more negative thoughts/feelings/low self esteem, depression etcc. It exploded finally last august as I relocated here in Binghamton, got into a crisis, went to the hospital, saw a therapist, but I really got better with this program. I suffered with the disorders on and off in my 20s and 30s, I am 53 now. I did not know the program,I did therapy, medication and achool abuse to shoote the panic and anxiety. then in 1996-97 I did cognitive therapy in Chicago for 8 eweek, got really better. Then my relapse in August.

Good to read from all of you in the blog,

have a great day.

Mario.

Jon- Welcome, this Program is awesome Smiler. It changed my life!!! I had anxiety for 20 years and pretty much refused to deal with it until I went to counseling and my counselor suggested this Program.

I had weight gain, too. I started the Program, changed my eating habits and exercise daily - 25 pounds gone and still counting.

You will find so much help and information here.

Good Luck To You!!
