I HAVE NOTED THAT SOME OF U HAVE GREAT PICTURES BEFORE YOUR NAMES IN THE CHAT ROOMS.

HOW WOULD I GO ABOUT DOING THIS FOR MYSELF.

Hello, we no longer host pictures on the Midwest Center's server however you may upload your picture/avatar to a hosting company like Photobucket.com or any other image hosting company and link to the avatar/picture from them.

1. Create an account on an image hosting business. I used photobucket.com for my avatar.

2. Once the picture is uploaded to their server, you will see a "direct url" which will look something like this (sample only does not work):

2. Log into the Midwest Center's site, click:

Go --> Personal Zone --> Profile

3. Once in your profile, click Edit Community Profile in the upper right corner.

4. Scroll down to Avatar/Picture URL: and click Edit again and a small popup window come up which will show general avatars. At the top of this small window look for a link that says "Custom Avatars". Click it.

5. Place a check in the Provide Custom Avatar "Url for your Custom Avatar" box then place the "direct link" (sample above) into the white box, then click Upload Avatar.

*Do NOT check Upload Custom Avatar Dimensious: 100 x 100 pixels at anytime.

Use small pictures for all Avatars. Large pictures will become distorted if used. The best size is 100 x 100 which will fit perfectly into the Avatar box next to your name.

After the Upload Avatar button has been clicked your picture will show below your userid if the link from the image hosting business is correct. If nothing shows go back and verify that you have used the correct url from their company in the custom avatar box.

If done correctly, log out, then log back into the system again and make a test post and you should see your avatar.

We will make a "test" thread for pictures only here in this section of the forum where you may make a test post to see if your avatar shows.
