I started having panic attacks several years ago. I dealt with my anxiety for 3 years before I got the program and then started on Cymbalta. For the past year and a half I have been GREAT! So happy I couldn't even explain it.

Last Sunday I had a panic attack, and I hoped it would just come and go. My anxiety went away but I woke up today and I feel spacy and depressed. I never thought I would be back in this place. I think I am depressed because I am scared of it never going away permanently.

Any advice?

Sandina, you know that we have 'speed bumps"...you and I both have been through this program..Go back and read lesson three.."positive self talk"..you just need a 'refresher". bring out the 'relaxation" cd...YOU will be okay. again, it's just a "speed bump" and it's 'just anxiety".

God bless you

"O God, you are my God. Earnestly I seek you;my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is BETTER than life,my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name, I will lift up my hands." Psalms 63

Hi Sandina.

Setbacks are part of recovery from anxiety. It's also good for making sure you're putting what you learned to use.

You've been through this before, so you know that you can come out of it again. You'll be fine. I also agree with going back to session 3, and work on your self-talk.

Mom of 6 has some good advice.
You're gonna come out of this again. Don't start "what-iffing", you'll only make it last longer.

(Hey Robin and DeeDee, so nice to see you. Hope you both are doing terrifically well).

Sandina, you have two excellent pieces of advice, and since you wrote this post a week ago, I hope you've already moved past that "speed bump." When these spacey depressed slumps greet me in the morning, I do refresh with Session 2 and 3. Why add Session 2? Because although I know, analytically, how devastatingly horrible I feel when my internal emotions deplete my feel good neurotransmitters, and I slip into bad diet (too much sugar, too much caffeine), Session 2 reinforces the biology of what is happening. Nothing sends me to those spacey feelings faster than too much sugar and caffeine.
Please post an update. I hope you are doing fine, and would like to hear from you.
