So, I've discovered that when I feel "off" and don't like the way I feel because it's not perfect, there's usually a source that has started it in my life. i.e. changes with my work schedule, traveling, etc. However, I'm not feeling "off" or blah because I think about the things going on but rather I overthink about how I feel off and how I hate it because I want to feel normal.
So, I see there's usually something that possibly triggers it but it doesn't make it feel better.
Does this even make sense? I get on here wanting to have a clear question, but end up rambling
Any suggestions?

Another thought: I don't feel I'm making the progress I expect at this point in the program. Of course, my expectations are that I wouldn't have any uncomfortable feelings anymore and I know that's not realistic. I just want it to work easier. Some of the things in the workbook just say things like, "worry is a waste of time" and it sounds so simple, but then I can't make a positive replacement thought work like I want it to everytime and I get so frustrated. I want it gone and I don't want my worry to be that I'll always have anxiety batches and overreact to how I feel on any given day.
Venting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Smiler
Have a great day!

Hey,

This may help.My problem, trying to hard and getting frustrated at little or no results.I'm giving up on the results and concentrating at the work in progress. If your having a hard time with putting your thoughts on line when you get here, try writing them down prior to getting on line when they are clear in your mind.See if that helps?

Sincerely,Sit

KDlady,
YOu may not think you are progressing, but i say you are!!! For one thing, you have been able to realize WHAT your doing,ie. dwelling on what keeps the anxiety there!
Once you start seeing it more often, you can begin to change your thinking. Instead of worries,, try to focus on Blessings each day in your life. And dont tell me you dont have any, cause everyone does!! It may just be seeing a sweet baby smile at you, or a beautiful flower on the way to work,, but why not focus on those instead of worrying about why you have what you have, and move forward!!!
Trust me, worrying about worrying, lol will never add gain to your overcoming anxiety.
Practice, Practice, the more you do, the more you will see your progress. Positive thoughts arent so hard if you practice.
Guess what?? Others will the change in you, before YOU will!!! Happens all the time! NellySmiler

You sound just like me. It get caught up in expecting myself to get over this by now. Tell yourself: I may not be where I want to be but I AM making progress.

Become focused on what you have done, and not what you have yet to do. This doens't happen over night. Those people on the tapes didn't get better over night, but it does sometimes seem like they did. It took years for some of them to get to the point they were on the tapes.

Its about accepting yourself now, and not focusing on what you want to feel like, and do, but on what you are doing for yoursself now to have a better future down the road.

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.
