I am now up to the 9th session on guilt and now I find anger coming out.
When I did the "anger" week I did not really feel that it applied to me except for the few short references to suppressed anger.I was taught very young that getting angry brought on serious unpleasant consequences so I would bottle it up. I noticed in the past few weeks thatr my anxiety was mounting. When this was mentioned as normal in the beginning of week 9 I felt better. This felling has been shortlived as I notice myself becoming short tempered with both people around me and customers(i work with the public) I realise that I am reacting to certain attitudes that I would have pretended to not notice in the past.I would have let people talk to me or tell me what or how to do things even if they were in a disrespectful manner to avoid confrontation. this is now much less the case. I havce gone back to review the section on anger. Any other suggestions? How can I find out more about suppressed anger and depression? |

thomas, I found that as I healed suppressed issues, situations, etc. would pop up. I think our psychi sees that we are 'ready' to handle something that has been simmering on the bottom of the pot, boils it up to the surface...bec. we are ready. So overall-I guess the positive way to look at it is that it's a sign we are getting BETTER...
