My son and are are cycling back into homelessness for the 2nd time. We have had going on 2 1/2 years of total bad luck with no end in sight. Those who know me as well as my ex and daughter, believe this is all happening because I am a bad Christian and do not attend church and therefore not in the will of God. I do not feel guilty about my lack of church attendance. They also believe I am mentally ill and that is why I do not have a job. The interesting part is I know God understands it all and is giving us the strength to get through.

I'm so very sorry for what you are going thru and especially for the lack of understanding from those who know you. The Bible says that God is just and that he will do what is fair and right consistently without partiality. (Romans 2:11). God holds out the blessing for faithful ones when there will be housing providing for the poor and homeless.

Often anxiety, agoraphobia, health problems and the like can be so intense that it can make it difficult for one to attend a place of worship. Just going to church doesn't necessarily make a person acceptable to God anyway. We can pray, read the Bible and meditate in the privacy of our home. In my circumstances I can meet with fellow worshipers for encouragement although sometimes hindered due to my health.

Wish you well catspurr.

I totally agree with grateful. We all are living in the world of the living. Sometimes it seems christians suffer the worse, believe me my family has definately suffered in different ways also. Just keep in mind when you meet with Jesus again there will be so much love that you will not even worry about all your days on this world. In till then keep praying to God he knows what you need and will never forsake you. You will be blessed for standing strong. I have the same kind of family that it seems just because they are very involved in church they can do no wrong and they can't even see what they are doing. I will pray for you.
God Bless Smiler

Catspurr,

The persons who are criticizing you sound like the friends of Job in the Bible who told him that he must've done something terrible to bring about his trials and tribulations. I don't know if you've read this chapter in the Bible or not but in case you haven't, let me tell you that in the end of that chapter God rebuked those people for criticizing Job and became Job's vindicator. You are absolutely right...God does understand everything you are going through and those persons who criticize you for not attending church enough have fallen prey to the erroneous belief that a person's works can get them God's favor. They have forgotten that it is God's grace that has cleansed them from their sins and that it is nothing they did to earn God's favor. I will pray for you in these tough times that the Holy Spirit will guide you and lead you to be around positive people who will support you through this and not tear you down. No one can understand what you are going through like God can. He won't judge or condemn you like the world does. Please keep your faith in God because when it comes down to the nitty gritty, God is all you and I and the rest of us have to lean on.
