I had an email from someone doing the program and she stated that she was having a difficut time thinking of a positive thought for every negative...she also was concerned about A thought that she dwelled on day after day. My response:
"It's difficult not to be intense about working on the program so that our misery will be over...but resist.

Let it unfold...practice but not with desparation-no one can think of a positive for Every negative thought...

Be kind to yourself. I recommend two books for you: WORRY, by Hallowell, and WHAT TO SAY WHEN YOU TALK TO YOURSELF, by Helmstetter.
When we are stressed we tend to dwell on a worry and chew it like a cud...(we have a farm and used to raise cattle-just one of my life lessons=watching a cow just stand in one place for hours and chew - chew - chew

) We chew on the Same worry day after day...never thinking to ask ourselves the most important question, "Is that true?"
When you find yourself in a rut, chewing your worry day after day, ask if it's a true/realistic thought/concern. Formulate a strategy that works toward resolution or at the very least a comforting comment-write it down. Carolyn
