If you can remember, Franklin, that you are dealing with your inner child it may make it easier for you to forgive yourself. All this part of you wants is acceptance and nurturing. Comfort it with soothing self-talk. Picture a small child - picture yourself as a small child. Sit her on your lap and soothe her. "I can love you, no matter what." "I will not abandon you." "We have lessons to learn and we will learn from our mistakes." Keep doing this over and over. Make it a daily exercise until you feel only love for this small child.
