Hello, everyone. I have recently started the program, and am very glad I did. I'm a little tired of hearing about what I'm going to be hearing. JUST TELL ME ALREADY.
Yesterday, I met with my therapist, and now she's trying to tell me I may have adult ADD. Goodness!! Talk about causing a panic attack in my poor brain. The symptoms list she gave me are exactly the same symptoms as those for anxiety and depression! Is someone just trying to get me on more medication? How do I know what is real and normal any more? It's been so long since I remember not having depression, I know I'm not normal. I'm sure by the end of this program, I will have a better grasp of which end is up. If anyone knows how to measure what is normal and average, please let me know. Thanks, everyone, for letting me in. |

hi tizzy
hope you are having a better day this day! i understand what you are feeling.... for like you most of my life i have felt NOT normal. Because of the 12 steps programs i have been through to get help with getting off booze (even there i did NOT feel normal-like i did not belong there) i have learn that there really is not a thing called normal. I believe ( and this is JUST me) that NORMAL = your own happiness in your own skin. I have NOT been happy for so long ( no matter where i was what i was doing) i do not know how to be happy in my own skin. I have just started this program myself.. and (SIGH) its such a relief to know i am NOT alone. NOT to mention i believe there in now HOPE for me and anyone else who tries this program. UNDERSTANDING what it is we have and with DIRECTION from the program i believe i might just yet learn to feel comfortable in my own skin! NORMAL= your our comfortablitly = happiness just thought i'd share what i believe. hope it works for ya! i hope you stay the course at you own speed with this program and really try.... good luck and god bless with your journey |

Hi tizzy and welcome,
I would say that seawolf hit the nail on the head with his description of NORMAL...I think normal is how we each percieve it but yes just being happy and joyfull in our own bodies or skin sounds like the best explanation I have heard. Best Wishes to you as you start your own journey to a brand new you. Thanks seawolf!!!!!!!! BELIEVE YOU CAN CONQUER ANYTHING~ AND YOU WILL !! I DID IT, YES !!!!! |

Hello,
Seawolf's description of normal inspired me to write my first post. That is something I hope to accomplish with this program... being comfortable in my own skin. I came across a saying in a book on Autism that I would like to share... "It's what you assume is normal that's driving you crazy." - Alex Durig |
